The assault resulted in the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
